KELLEY'S CORNER
NOVEMBER 18, 2010

Kelley is now back at work Full Time and her Kidney is still working strong with no rejection to date.  She has come through so far with Flying Colors.  We, our Valpak of NH Family, would like to thank each and everyone of you that have visited Kelley's Page, prayed for Kelley's success; there is a power in numbers and you have all contributed to her success.  We would especially like to thank those who have donated to help Kelley through this tough time financially.  I'm a firm believer in Karma and you have some coming to you for sure!

This will be the last post, I HOPE AND PRAY so feel free to email Kelley directly or call her here at our Londonderry Office to speak to her.

Signing Off This 18th Day Of November, Two Thousand and Eleven.
NOVEMBER 8, 2010
Hello guys!
Just wanted to give you another update. They finished the biopsy and was able to get 2 good pieces for the pathologist. The biopsy was NOT fun and hurt like hell but its over now and I am still smiling ;)
I won't know the results until tomorrow. If it is rejection they may keep me for a couple of days and give me more anti-rejection drugs but I am not worrying about it until I get the results.
Now I am just chilling out listening to relaxation music.
Miss you guys!!!!
NOVEMBER 5, 2010 - Kelley was just informed that she needs to be reimitted back into the Hosptial on Monday, November 8, 2010.  As stated by Kelley, "My anti-body level has gone up and my creatin (kidney function) is going up ;("  This all means that her body has begun to fight off the Kidney.  This was expected by her Doctors, very disappointing as you can imagine but they do have a plan in place to counteract the rejection from her body to the Kidney.

Once again, we need to say a prayer or two in the hopes that this setback is minor at best.  Kelley did stop by the office today on her way back from the Hospital to say hi and she is looking and feeling much better.
NOVEMBER 2, 2010 - Kelley came into the office today for a visit.  She is still very weak and can only stay out for a very short while.  The news continues to be GREAT in that her counts are really low still, the lower the better when fighting off infections.  So we all know by now the name of the game is the counts and her body's willingness to continue to except her new Kidney.  Outside of that, the kidney is working better than could ever have been expected and that is so very nice to hear for her, and us, for a change.  The poor girl deserves a break from the big guy upstairs and let's continue to hope and pray she has received one in a major way!

Remember that Kelley still can't do much and has no disability as this is her 2nd transplant, so please forward this to your friends and family so they can do the same.  We should all be able to take care of this young lady and her girls if we work together!
OCTOBER 30, 2010 - Last night we celegrated the close of another mailing at a local watering hole and Kelley made a guest apperance for about a half hour.  We were all excited to see her and she was doing great.  Still very weak and fragile she said she was getting stronger with each passing day.  Her rejection counts are very low, which is a blessing to say the very least, and we will continue to hope and pray they stay that way as she continues to get even stronger.

Kelley was decking our job on Friday and continues to look in on our operation to make sure we dong a good job!

Thank God for today's Medical Science and Technoloy and to her cousin Scott who delivered one hell of Kidney that continues to perform well beyond expectations!

OCTTOBER 27, 2010 - Kelley is being released from the Hospital Tomorrow!!!  She is coming home and she could not be happier.  The next 45 days are critical but at least she can be home with her girls; we all know how important it is to be in your own home and bed.  Welcome Home Kelley, Godspeed........  I know all of us here at VPNH are so excited to hear all the good news since the day of the operation moving forward, so lets keep that going with all those positive thoughts and prayers!

OCTOBER 26, 2010 - I am super tired today. I had my last plasma treatment this morn. They are now giving me my first IV anti rejection drug. It takes 6 hrs to give and I have to have a nurse w/ me while I am receiving it. They just started it and so far it’s going good I just have a sore throat. They have me on steroids which are making me a little aggravated but the doctors are saying it’s totally normal, I still hate it. They finally took me off the IV Steroids and put me on pill form so hopefully it will get better in a couple of days.  My kidney function is still going awesome. I talked to Scott this morning and he is feeling great……..

OCTOBER 25, 2010 - Kelly reports that she continues to make progress.  Feeling a good deal more pain today than others as her pain medication is lowered.  There is some concern regarding the drain, tad heavy, so they need to test that and they are hoping there is no leaking from the Kidney.  She says she is feeling much stronger and hopes to get out of the Hospital in a few days.  She has to undergo a lot of treatments tomorrow which we hope will go smoothly and not have any adverse affects to her progress to date.  She said the next 30 to 45 days is critical in how her body ultimately reacts to her new Kidney.  We will keep you all posted as to her daily progress, which has been GREAT so far.

OCTOBER 24, 2010 - Kelley reports that she continues to improve and is now doing a few laps around the hospital floor.  She is still in till Wednesday as they make sure they do all they can to ward off any infections and to fight off any rejection of the new Kidney before it even starts.  It simply could not be going better up till this point, thank GOD!  All due to the Power of Positive thinking. Prayers and Kelley being such a trooper and a Fighter!!!

OCTOBER 23, 2010 - 12:15PM - Kelley is still doing extremely well and her Doctors are very pleased and very surprised at how she came t\through the operation and how her new Kidney is performing.  She has already been up walking around twice and her body, so far, does not seem to be fighting off her New Kidney in any major way.  She is still not out of the woods yet, by a long shot, as her Doctors continue to treat her aggressively to make sure they combat any rejection before it starts. But, only time will tell us if her body will indeed accept her new Kidney.  Your thoughts, prayers and good wishes must be working so let’s keep that positive energy alive and well as Kelley fights her way out of the woods and back to the life she deserves!

OCTOBER 22, 2010 - 5:00PM - Kelley continues to report that her status is very good.  Not immediate rejection has set in and that is a KEY Factor towards her complete recovery. The Doctors will continue to their anti-rejection treatments in the hopes to ward off any rejection before it may set in.  However, being that her current status is so good they are talking about letting her go home on Tuesday of next week.  Let's all keep positive and continue with those prayers and good wishes and maybe, just maybe she will see that happen!  I will update you over the weekend if anything changes but other than that I will be back on Monday morning.

9:00AM - Kelley's operation was a complete success!!!  Her Doctor's are amazed how well her new Kidney is doing.  Her Cousin Scott Rocheville, our hero, operation went off without a single flaw and he was up walking around yesterday afternoon and may be released by tomorrow!  Although Kelley has numerous tubes and lines in her she is in great spirits given the news of how the operation went from her Doctors.  Thank God she leaves near Boston to be able take advantage of the best Doctors in the world.

The big thing now for Kelley and her Doctors is to make sure the body does not start rejecting her new Kidney.  Its is functioning better than can be expected so if her body does not try to fight it off, to any large degree, Kelley will be rounding 3rd!!!!

THE DAY, OCTOBER 21, 2010

MECHELL LORD - VALPAK SALES MANAGER (October 21, 2010 - 4:30pm):

Kelley is out of surgery & the Kidney is working!!!  I will post her room # for flower delivery as soon as she is out of recovery.  Fingers are crossed that there is no rejection in the days and weeks to come xxxxx xxxxx.

1:54PM - We just received word that they have successfully removed the kidney from Scott, Kelley's cousin and donor, and are now operating on Kelley.

TODAY IS THE DAY that Kelley has been hoping and praying for, as we all have; it is finally here.  Kelley is undergoing a 6 hour surgery today, currently underway at Brigham's & Woman's Hospital, To Receives Her NEW Kidney!  She has been undergoing dialysis 3 days a week since the removal of her Kidney and over the past several weeks she has also been undergoing a series of other invasive procedures all leading up to today.  Kelley has been at work all this time, up through and as late as Tuesday, October 19, 2010 past 6pm trying to button up one loose end after another.  She has been truly amazing through all of this and a true inspiration to each and every one of us, to say the least.  We will update the news of her operation as soon as we are brought up to speed by her Mom who sits awaiting the news herself at B&W Hospital in Boston.

MARCH 5, 2010:  Kelley is still at work full time and driving our Valpak Bus like no one can.  We are looking for an Assistant and should have a new hire within days.  Kelley continues to do dialysis 3 days a week for 3+ hours each time.  They are building her up and continue to test her to in order to move forward with the transplant.  We will keep you up to date as thing progress.
FEBRUARY 23, 2010:  Believe it or not, Kelley is back to work.  Her operation to remove her existing kidney took place last Wednesday and she was back home on Friday.  She came to work on Monday and has saved us yet again!  The plan now is to see how her medication is working and a process of retesting in the hopes that she can have the transplant as soon as possible.  I will keep you posted.
FEBRUARY 17, 2010:   Kelley's surgery was successful as they removed her kidney, however they were unable to do microscopic surgery thus making it much more intense than anticipated.  Jim Hilker and his wife Linda took Kelley in and stayed with her tell she was moved to her room.  They called me on their way home last night to tell me that she was resting comfortable, relatively speaking as the pain medication was finally kicking in.  Kelley is in Brigham & Woman’s Hospital in Boston she will be there for a few days. She thinks she will be back Monday but it depends on how she heals after surgery. Our hearts and Prayers are with her!!!!!
FEBRUARY 12, 2010:  Kelley's Doctors have elected to take out her old kidney in the hopes that it will drastically improve her bodies ability to accept the new one.  Kelley's body continues to generate too many antibodies fighting off the old one that if the translate were to take place the probability of success, or the her ability to overcome rejection would be too low. - The surgery is set for next Tuesday.  Once completed they will monitor Kelley's progress in this area and set a new date for the transplant once they feel the conditions have vastly improved. - Kelley will continue her dialysis which she is on today, three times a week for 3 and 1/2 hour per treatment up through the transplant.
FEBRUARY 5, 2010:  Kelley was scheduled for her 2nd Kidney Transplant on February 4, 2010.  Her first transplant, which took place a number of years ago that was donated to her by her mother has failed.
- Complications set in on the final testing and Kelley was notified on Friday, January 29, 2010 that her body would reject the new Kidney and that the Thursday surgery date was in jeopardy.  They called Kelley in to do a procedure that would lower the anti-bodies in her bloodstream thus increasing the probability her body would accept her new Kidney; graciously donated to her by her cousin.  This took place on February 2, 2010.
- New complications arose in which Kelley became violently ill when attempting the  procedure on Tuesday causing her Doctors to postpone the surgery into the 3rd week of February.  They will now try to remove her kidney hoping that this will cause the high level of antibodies in her bloodstream to subside.
- It is hard to understand and even harder to fathom what Kelley is going through.  She really appreciates all the notes, voice mails and good wishes.  She feels terrible that she can't get back to everyone but wants everyone to know how vital they are in helping her to carry on.
